3 Tips for Healthy Traveling

Pacifica Transportation - 3 Tips for Healthy Traveling

We want our San Diego airport transportation clients to travel in good health, whether they are riding with us or flying the friendly skies. With that in mind, here are some tips for avoiding illness while traveling.

1.) Sterilize whatever you can.

We thoroughly clean and detail our vehicles on an ongoing basis, but the airplane you fly in may not be so lucky. In fact, numerous people could sit in your airplane seat in the course of a single day, depending on how many flights it took. For that reason, antibacterial wipes should be your best friend when flying. Sterilize all the non-fabric surfaces on and around your seat, including the arm rest and the pull-down tray.
In our vehicles, there is a chance that others may have ridden in the car before you (depending on how many guests we have booked for the day). For that reason, it would not be a bad idea to wipe down your surroundings in the vehicle.

2.) Eat and drink well.

That means less coffee, more water (the same goes with alcohol – if you can avoid it while traveling, you should. You can always get a cocktail later in the evening). It also means avoiding fast food as much as possible at the airport, and opting for the healthiest foods you can find before boarding. Fat, starches and sugar are going to make your body sluggish, but lean proteins, fruits and vegetables will give you the natural energy you need to feel great. Even a granola bar is a better snack option than a candy bar or burger.

3.) Sit alone when you can.

That is rarely possible on the airplane, but in the airport, you should look hard for a place to sit alone. Airports are full of people, and people carry germs. Someone may look healthy, but that doesn’t mean they won’t sneeze or cough on you a few minutes later. If possible, hunt down a seat with two unoccupied spaces on the sides, and place your belongings on the empty seats to discourage others from sitting there. Of course, you don’t want to be rude, so this is only possible if the terminal is not especially crowded.
Our San Diego airport transportation guests deserve to be healthy, both during and after their trips. Follow these three tips to enjoy a healthier, happier trip once you land.
